Course Expectations

The Occupational Course of Study Curriculum
 The Occupational Course of Study  (OCS) Curriculum:
  • A curriculum for students with disabilities
  • Promotes community inclusion
  • Teaches self-determination
  • A transition-focused curriculum that includes extensive hands-on career preparation
  • Prepares students with knowledge and skills to enter the job market-prepared to work independently or with moderate support
 Students on the OCS Diploma Pathway will receive their high school diploma by successfully completing the following course requirements:
       4 Occupational English                                   3 Occupational Math 
       2 Science                                                           2 Occupational Social Studies 
       1 H/PE                                                                4 Career/Technical Education
       2 Elective                                                           6 Occupational Preparation Classes
In addition to the above requirements students must also complete:
       300 School-based vocational training hours
       240 Work-based vocational training hours (Community Inclusion)
       360 Competitive employment hours
       Career Portfolio
       Complete IEP Objectives
