Letter to Parents and Students

Dear Parents and Students:

Welcome to another semester of math.  My goal is that every student will pass this class.  This goal can be accomplished if we all work together!

Students, I look forward to teaching and assisting you on how to become successful, independent learners.  You are responsible for checking your class work and homework.  If you are absent on the day that the homework is gone over, please turn in your homework to me so that I can check it for you or get the answers from a classmate.

I will check your quizzes and tests.  Quizzes will be given every Friday, unless a test is scheduled or school is out!  You will be able to use your notes on all quizzes.  Tests will be given after the completion of each chapter with some exceptions.  Notebooks will be checked periodically (especially during parent conferences) for notes, class work, and homework.

Parents, students are encouraged to keep up with their nine-weeks grades by recording them in their math binders.  Tests are 50%, quizzes are 40%, and class work 10%.  At the end of the semester, students will be given a final exam.  The final exam will count 20% of students' final grade.

Parent conferences may be scheduled during my planning period or after school.

You may contact me at 919-751-7120 or anjanetteartis@wcps.org.
