Course Expectations

CLASSROOM  INFORMATION

 

MATERIALS NEEDED:

1.  3-ring binder with loose-leaf paper

2.  pencils and pens

3.  GRAPH PAPER

4.  TI-83+ or TI-84 graphing calculator
(Calculators will be provided for classroom use only.  However, I strongly suggest that you invest in your own graphics calculator to use at home.)

5.  BOX OF TISSUES (to donate to the classroom)

 

GRADES BASED ON:

1.  Homework--average counts 2 times, as a test grade

(Homework is assigned daily and checked the next school day.  All problems must be attempted to receive full credit.)

2.  Quizzes--each counts 1 time

3.  Tests--each counts twice
(Tests need to be signed by a parent and returned to school.)
USE ONLY PENCILS ON TEST AND QUIZZES!!

4.  Projects (honors course)--counts 1 or 2 times

5.  Final Exam counts 25% of the overall grade.

STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FINDING OUT AND MAKING UP MISSED HOMEWORK AND TESTS.

 

CLASSROOM RULES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Be present and ON TIME every day. MAKE UP YOUR WORK WHEN ABSENT.

2.  Bring materials to class each day.  Sharpen pencils before class.

3.  Listen carefully to all lessons and instructions.

4.  Work quietly, especially in groups.

5.  Be considerate of others by practicing good manners and good behavior.

6.  Save eating, drinking or chewing gum for another time--not in the classroom!

7.  Stay in your seat. Ask permission to go to restroom at an appropriate time.

8.  Respect the rights and property of others, including school property.

9.  USE YOUR CLASS TIME WISELY!  More work accomplished in class is less work  

     you will have after class.

 

EXTRA HELP:

Homework Lab is available Mon.-Thurs. from 3:00-3:45 in the media center.
